How do I know the translation will be accurate?

This is the most common question I received when I get in touch with an author regarding translations.
And it's a TOP question; the kind of question any writer should ask him/herself.

How do I know the translation will be accurate, given I don't speak Italian?
How do I know the translation will be accurate, given I don't have any Italian friend I could ask to?

If it's true this is a question that can scare you when thinking about translations, there are actually a couple effective and cost-effective ways to solve this problem.

- Ask your readers: if you're a best selling author and you've sold many copies of your book, probably between your audience there is an Italian mother tongue reading your books. If it's true that Italian are not the best English-learners on the planet, it's also true that there are thousands of enthusiast readers who follow you even if you don't write in Italian. So check your audience, and contact with them. They will be more than happy to help you with this task!

- Bloggers who love reading: in Italy there are hundreds of passionate readers/ bloggers, who are open to receive your book, read it and write a review for you, FOR FREE. They love reading, that's it. And for sure they will be happy to know you and read the Italian version of your book. They will give you a completely objective opinion about it, and you will get free marketing thanks to their review.

So, if your lack of knowledge is what scares you, this is the way.

Cost effective and able to increase your audience!
